Robin B & her dog Marley: St. John Ambulance

St. John Ambulance would like to nominate Robin B & her dog Marley for Volunteer of the Week.  Robin & Marley joined our Therapy Dog Program back in June.  Since then they have been out to different locations in Grande Prairie making a difference.  They are a lovely team and we look forward to having them continue in our program.  Keep up the good work

Alberta Health Services Volunteer Resources nominates Mae Woronuk for Tim Hortons Volunteer of the Week. Mae has been an active Auxiliary Member Volunteer at the hospital in Spirit River for 45 years. Her kindness and compassion shines in everything she does.

Chris Balaski: The Society for Support to Pregnant & Parenting Teens

George Jones, is a behind the scenes volunteer with the Playhouse Raffle that Pregnant and Parenting Teens has every year. George is often helping out with the building and finishing work on the playhouses. George works alongside his wife, Karen who has been a designing playhouses for us for over 5 years now. George is a dedicated volunteer who without fail can be found each year putting in over 20 hours of work just on the playhouses alone. This year’s playhouse you can see his handy work on the Potting Shed; George helped with putting up the walls, shingling, trim work, and the beautiful flower box on the window. Pregnant and Parenting Teens would like to thank George for all his hard work and attention to detail on the playhouses.

Chris Balaski: The Society for Support to Pregnant & Parenting Teens

Chris Balaski, is a behind the scenes volunteer with the Playhouse Raffle that Pregnant and Parenting Teens has every year. Chris is often found helping with the building and finishing work on the playhouses. This year’s Potting Shed playhouse Chris built the beautiful potting bench found in the back of the house with a hidden top soil bin, Chris put in over 20 hours building this bench in addition to helping with the shingling of the playhouse. This was the second year that Chris has volunteered with the Playhouse Raffle and he has definitely shown that he has a passion for building and an eye for detail. Thank you Chris for all your hard work with the playhouses!

Rochelle Driver: Goodwill Industries of Alberta

Rochelle Driver is Goodwill’s nomination for September. Rochelle volunteers at 3 places in Grande Prairie with Goodwill’s support. She also volunteers other places with her day program.  Rochelle volunteers at the CFA church cleaning up and organizing after the services, Crime Prevention- collecting recycling and cleaning, and at Grande Prairie Care Centre- assisting clients with Bingo & transporting to their rooms. Rochelle is quiet but thoughtful. Rochelle is very caring about everyone and enjoys getting out in her community and giving back to others.
