Ellen Skinner: Saskatoon Lake Ag. Society

Saskatoon Lake Ag. Society would like to nominate Ellen Skinner as their volunteer of the week.  Ellen is a huge asset to our organization.  She jumps right in to help and then questions herself after.  Ellen is always quick to offer support, help and advice at any time.  She organizes a variety of events at our hall and also sits on our Board of Directors.  Ellen thank you for all you do for us.

Chelsea Boers: The DownTown Association

The DownTown Association would like to nominate Chelsea Boers - a member of the Board of Directors for the Downtown Association and two of its committees, Member Affairs & Promotions. As a professional she has spent the last decade in the events, marketing and hospitality fields. Currently she is the Events & Marketing Specialist at Revolution Place, and thinks she has the most fun job in the world!  In Chelsea’s words: “Volunteering is an amazing way to connect with the community. Other volunteer initiatives I have helped out with include Stop Hunger Now and the Grande Prairie City Scrub. Grande Prairie is an amazing community filled with so many selfless people that get involved wherever they can to help out, and it makes me extremely proud to be a part of it.”

Judy Braun: Society to Support Pregnant & Parenting Teens

The Society to Support Pregnant & Parenting Teens nominates Judy Braun.  Judy volunteers in our First Steps Nursery once a week, Judy works part time and comes to her volunteer shift directly from work. This shows her dedication to our agency, it also is shown through her interaction with the children in the kindness and joy she brings when she is here. Judy is one of our newest volunteers and in the short time that she has been here she has made a difference. Judy has no problem taking on any job that needs to be done whether it’s sterilizing the high chairs, or cleaning up the toys. Judy is real joy to have and we have enjoyed getting to know her and hope she continues with us for months and years to come. Judy we thank you for your dedication to the First Steps Nursery.

Courtney K & her Dog Maya: St. John Ambulance

St. John Ambulance would like to nominate Courtney K and her dog Maya for volunteer of the week.  Courtney and Maya joined our Therapy Dog program in 2016.  Currently Courtney and Maya visit at the Grande Prairie Care Centre.  This past weekend Courtney took in flowers for the residents, she gave away almost 90 flowers.  She said "almost teared me up, the look on their faces was priceless."  Thank you for everything so far and we look forward to seeing more wonderful things for you guys!

Cody Boake: The Society to Support Pregnant & Parenting Teens

The Society to Support Pregnant & Parenting Teens nominates Cody Boake.  Cody is a Work bee volunteer, he volunteers many Saturdays and evenings in helping complete our Playhouses. He is a hard worker and takes initiative with what needs to get done. Cody always shows up with a smile on his face and ready to install flooring, shingles, siding etc. There has not been a task he hasn’t been able to do yet. Words cannot express how much we appreciate the time and dedication Cody has put into the Playhouses, it is volunteers such as himself that make these playhouses what they are and the raffle the success that it is. Thank you Cody!
