Alberta Health Services Volunteer Resources is proud to nominate Aileen Grimsrud as our Volunteer of the Week. The Lake Saskatoon Community Club is an active group with Aileen as current President. They have been a registered group since 1990 and have contributed many infant hats and blankets, afghans, slippers, other patient care items and provided handmade Christmas ornaments for patients. Alberta Health Services Volunteer Resources celebrates this group as Volunteers of the Week. Thank you so much for your commitment to the QEII Hospital and community.

Murphy Watson : Alberta Health Volunteer Resources

Alberta Health Services Volunteer Resources is proud to nominate Murphy Watson as our Volunteer of the Week. She has just passed the 2 year mark of volunteering on the Pediatric unit and has been a very dedicated weekend volunteer. Murphy is a first year college student and we wish her all the best in her career path and are grateful for the caring and commitment she brings to our patients.

April 21, 2015- Florence Puckett

Alberta Health Services Volunteer Resources is pleased to nominate Florence Puckett as our Volunteer of the Week.Seasons come and go but never without specially crafted infant hats that celebrate the celebration – whether it’s Christmas, St. Patrick’s Day, Easter or Halloween. Knitting and crocheting is what Florence does so well for our newborn babies at the QEII Regional Hospital. Thank you so much, Florence. On behalf of AHS Volunteer Resources you are truly deserving of recognition and the Volunteer of the Week nomination.


April 20, 2015- Melisa Barroso-Martinez

Grande Prairie Centre for Newcomers GPCN nominates Melisa Barroso Martinez. Melisa Barroso Martinez has been volunteering at GPCN since May 2012, and she is continue to work with us to help the community. Her position is to help in the office, work with clients one on one to help them with interpretation and translation from Spanish to English, provide information and orientation about Grande Prairie to our clients, and take them to various places. She also helped with using the public library system and is always attentive to client needs. She also has a big impact with helping us during our social activities, events, Citizenship Ceremonies and display tables. During 2014-2015 Melisa has total of 27 hours as a volunteer at the centre.  I believe Melisa Barroso Martinez has very good relations with our staff and clients and we are proud to nominate her and appreciated the work she did for our organization and community.
